
Ruth completed her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2023. She has now re-joined iHope as a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate and director of iHope.
Ruth has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Charleston Southern University has been a nurse for 25+ years working in various areas throughout her nursing career. She has transitioned to counseling because she wants to help individuals with their mental and spiritual health, not just their physical health. She is currently a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). Currently, Ruth has returned to school for her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric Mental Health through the Medical University of South Carolina.
Ruth loves working with clients of all ages and knows that God can make a difference in broken lives, and desires to help her clients see this in their own lives. She enjoys working with couples and is SYMBIS certified to help pre-marital and married couples grow together and learn to communicate more effectively. Recently she received her certification as an anxiety counselor through Evergreen. She strongly believes that anyone can benefit from having someone to talk with who makes them feel safe.
Ruth and her husband live in Darlington with their 2 furry nosed four legged children. Her husband is the music minister at Grace Baptist Church. One of her favorite ministry opportunities, as the wife of a minister, is Grace Kids, a children’s choir that puts on 2 productions a year. Seeing the confidence that children gain from the experience is one of her favorite things. Learning to know God and Jesus is one of the greatest things we can teach children.
