Why give to iHope?

iHope exists to be a resource to our local churches, a distinctly Christian presence in counseling, and to keep counseling affordable in our community.

How are donations used?

iHope is a nonprofit ministry providing distinctly Christian counseling in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina. Every gift is used to keep clients’ fees for counseling as low as possible.

Client fees at iHope are set at 50% below the local average. Locally in Florence, counseling costs average $120 per hour. Of course, some people have health insurance to help cover this cost, but this requires a diagnosis of a mental illness and can limit the type of treatment that providers can offer. Even with health insurance, there are often co-pays as high as $30-$60 per visit.

So, at iHope, fees are set between $40-$60 per hour. Our fees aren’t lower because we somehow have lower costs of operation – they are lower because we are trusting God to provide the other 50% of the budget through donations and gifts.

Every gift to iHope is used to keep clients’ fees at this affordable rate.

What does it mean that iHope is a nonprofit?

iHope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, classified by the IRS as a public charity. The SC Secretary of State has approved us to solicit and receive charitable donations in the state of South Carolina.

As a nonprofit, iHope is not seeking to build wealth among our board members, counselors, or staff. Our goal is not to make a profit, but rather to help our community. We are seeking to serve the community in a healthy, ethical, Christ-honoring way.

Because we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, every donation and gift can be tax-deductible.
